The Congregational Health Ministry is a health promotion, disease prevention
ministry based on the care of the whole person – body, mind, and spirit.
The ministry leads the congregation to become a community of health
and healing. The CHM members
model an understanding of health as being more than physical and encourages
members of the congregation to become good stewards of the gift of health.
The program is rooted in the mission of the church which reclaims the
Scripture: “to go out and preach the kingdom of God and to heal, recognize
God’s desire that we achieve abundant life (John 10:10) and reaffirm and
support the journey toward wellness.
Through the Congregational Health Ministry, the congregation at FBC
seeks to develop creative ways of addressing needs and identifying resources
to nurture health, wellness, and healing.
This health care ministry strengthens the congregation and enables
congregants to focus on serving God by serving others.
The program compliments and supports the Pastor and existing
committees within the congregation.
